Professional Experience: Dancing / Modelling / Acting

Dance Work

> I am a regular member of staff at Frances Bleasdale School of Dancing where I teach Cecchetti Ballet, ISTD Tap and Modern Theatre, Street, Contemporary and Stretch classes six days a week. I teach students of all ages and abilities and also run a session for children with autism, Down's Syndrome and other learning difficulties. I really enjoy working at FBSD and love to share my knowledge and skills with my students. Working professionally in the dance world also means that I can pass this invaluable experience onto them.

> Chosen to go to Pernera Beach Hotel, Cyprus to be a part of their animation team for 6 months. I was dancing in their shows and was asked to contribute to choreographing some numbers, as well as being asked to perform several solos, including Fire, Tap and Aerial Hoop solos. There were four shows; the Fire Show, Around the World Show, the Variety and the Cabaret Show. I learnt to dance with fire sticks and fire fans for the shows and really enjoyed the whole experience. I also co-choreographed, performed in and helped to come up with the concept of a mini magic show with another animator at the hotel. I danced, performed tricks and assisted with the other animator's magic tricks too. It was fun and really good to learn further new skills.

I was also one of two dancers taken to Galu Seaside, an event building where a large event in Larnaca was taking place, to dance with fire sticks and fans for the entertainment there. This was paid. I went to a hotel in Protaras with two other dancers for a wedding as well, to perform with fire. The guests enjoyed it and it was a really good experience. This was also filmed for a British TV series about Brits marrying in Cyprus, out in January 2018 and was also paid.

As a member of the animation team, I was expected to run daily activities including Aqua Gym, Stretch and Yoga, Darts, Olympics afternoon, fun games around the pool, French Bowls etc. I was in charge of the Kids Club, and was responsible for devising and delivering fun and interesting sessions for children between 4 and 12 years old. Sessions included were; outdoor games, craft activities aka pirate hats and maps and bottle rockets, face painting, Olympics morning, Bowling, make a board game, jewellery and mask making etc. I would help with evening activities as well such as picture quizzes, Bingo, audience participation for outside acts, PR, music quizzes, Karaoke, our game shows etc.

I returned for Summer 2018 doing similar things and was also in charge of Sundays when our boss had his day off. I formed a collaborative Sunday night Variety pre show with performances from the rest of the team and myself. During this season we performed some of the same shows like Around the World with some changes to formations as we only had me and another dancer for most of the season, and three at the end of the season for some but not all numbers in the show. We also did the Fire Show but this year, I choreographed a new fire solo using the fire sticks while en pointe. We performed Mama Mia over the season, and I choreographed a duet for me and one of my colleagues in the team to Take a Chance on Me. This was a comedic dance with many lifts and other partnerwork. I was asked to choreograph a pointe solo for the song Chiquitita and joint devise a pointe duet to Dancing Queen. I was placed in all other group dance numbers too. We had pre-shows on Friday and Saturday nights as well before the main shows, where I performed Aerial Hoop, Tap, Contemporary and Spanish solos, an LED costume duet and some group dances.

I learnt a lot from this experience and would love to try something similar again!
